I have a lot of photos. That is putting it mildly. I’ve taken tens of thousands of photos since my dad first handed me a camera when I was 8 years old. For the rest of the summer, and maybe beyond, I’m going to dive into my archives and rediscover a few fun adventures I’ve taken over the years with and without my family. Just a little something to add some oomph to your Friday as you head into the weekend.
Three years of traveling with your kid is an excellent reminder of just how much you have done in your (and his) life. Before Dek turned three he had been to Maui and the Big Island of Hawaii, across the USA countless time to visit family, China (twice!), Hong Kong (twice!), Japan, around Oregon, Washington and parts of British Columbia. That’s at least 7 more places than I had been at his age.
This kid struck a parental goldmine when he was born into our family.
But as my little guy gets older and we look toward new adventures, I can’t help but look back at how much he has grown, the milestones he has hit along the way and what he might figure out next during out travels. He started walking in China, found his love for rocks in Japan, and a need to jump into big holes in Oregon. I’m sure long division and skydiving can’t be far off.

Love it! You are right, your little guys definitely struck gold getting to be a part of such an adventurous family. Looking back at his photos also gives me hope that my baldy will some day have hair too!

Hang in there with the hair Kate! Took us at least a year and a half to get some peach fuzz on Dek. His baby brother has a little fuzz going on, but it sure isn’t growing. We may have another baldy on our hands

Such adorable and priceless pictures! I love that sand picture too. He is one lucky kid and adding more. I miss the toddler years – they didn’t have as much input on your itinerary.
