Friday Photo Flashback: Rome, Italy

Italy, Rome

This month I am taking the kids to Europe for the first time. It seemed like the perfect opportunity to look back on my past European adventures. Some will be when I was traveling before Mike and I got married, while others will be from our earliest escapades as a couple. Either way it will be exciting to hop down memory lane.

Ah Rome, land of mystery, ancient ruins and impeccable food. A city filled with beautiful people speeding by on their Vespas and saying “ciao” as they kiss and wave good-bye.

Not so long before children were on our minds Mike and I took our very belated honeymoon to Rome and Venice. It was a magical time filled with late nights eating out and lazy mornings sleeping in.

It’s a bit of a blur seeing all of Rome in less than a week, but we sure did try to do it.

My favorite memory? The linguine pesto we had on our last night at this eatery off of Piazza Navona. It was packed, looked like a tourist trap, but was filled with locals and some of the most amazing food I have ever had.

We can’t wait to return with the boys and yell “ciao!” and wave as we tackle the city again one day soon.

My husband and I were in Rome a year ago this week, and I’ve been reminiscing all week! Love your photos, it just brought it all back.
We took our kids to Venice and Croatia this year, and it was a wonderful experience to see Europe come alive through their eyes. Looking forward to more!

I have traveled to many places in my time but still not yet made in to Rome…until now. My tickets are booked for early next year and I can’t wait. Just doing as much research on it as I can…I hope I find it as magical as you describe :) .

Beautiful! I love the photo of colosseum lit up! The best way to see Rome, imho, is at night :)
