TASTE of Keylime Pie at Bluewater Waterfront Grill Wrightsville Beach

 In Food, Restaurants

Welcome to TASTE, a delicious part of Walking On Travels that will give you ideas for your next dining adventure with or without your kids. For many of us, we loved checking out the latest restaurant before we had kids, but we forgot about food after the baby was born. It is time to reignite those taste buds and get excited about what is out there to be devoured and enjoyed.

What: Keylime pie with a handmade graham cracker crust

Where: Bluewater Waterfront Grill, 4 Marina St, Wrightsville Beach, NC 28480, (910) 256-8500

Why: Keylime pie is a true art form. Pastry chefs need to find the perfect balance of sweet and tart with the lime. What truly brings it all together though is the graham cracker crust. Store bought just won’t do. A standard pie crust should be banned. The best crusts are the ones made from scratch by breaking up graham crackers and mixing them with butter among other things. The keylime pie at the Bluewater Waterfront Grill in Wrightsville Beach, NC did just that. Actually they were smart enough to bring in their pies. They commissioned a local bakery to make this delectable dessert on the menu. Forget the rest of the menu if you are not that hungry. Just go straight for dessert.
