TASTE of a Bretzel Schinken Sandwich in Switzerland

 In Europe, Food

Welcome to TASTE, a delicious part of Walking On Travels that will give you ideas for your next dining adventure with or without your kids. For many of us, we loved checking out the latest restaurant before we had kids, but we forgot about food after the baby was born. It is time to reignite those taste buds and get excited about what is out there to be devoured and enjoyed.

What: Bretzel schinken sandwich (pretzel and ham)

Where: Reinhard – Bäckerei Konditorei Café, Mösli, Milchstrasse 2, 3072 Ostermundigen, Switzerland (one of five Bern locations, including the main train station)

Why: Pretzels aren’t just for snacking, though they’re perfect for an on-the-go bite while you’re making your way through the streets of Old Town Bern. But they’re also a savory lunch option. These crispy-outside, fluffy-middle are sliced open, dabbed with a creamy butter and topped with a slice of ham. Throw in a sweet treat (or two) and you’ve got yourself a delicious bakery lunch.

If you have a favorite morsel you discovered during your wanderings that you would like to share, please be in touch. I’m always looking to highlight the best bites around.
