Don’t Step on the Butterflies

 In Washington, Zoos and Aquariums

We had so much fun at the Pacific Science Center last week. I thought I would give you all a little preview of one of the highlights- the Butterfly room. You have never seen toddlers so aware of their feet. We had to be extra careful not to crush any butterflies as we explored.

Stay tuned Friday for more photos and a full report on what makes this museum great for kids AND parents.

This looks like a wonderful place to visit and I’m looking forward to reading your report on it. I’ve always loved seeing kids’ reactions inside butterfly exhibits. Some stand there like statues and some run around trying to get away from them. Adorable picture of your little one!

Butterfly exhibits are one of our favourite things to visit. Kids love them but there also seems to be something about butterflies that brings out the inner child in everyone as they wander the exhibit hoping that a butterfly will light on them. I’ve never seen a grumpy person at a butterfly exhibit – even teenagers have to smile!

Butterflies are very beautiful and interesting! One of these days I need to go see the migration of the Monarch butterflies.

Nifty. Seasonally, there is a Butterfly Garden Exploration Park at Turtle Bay in Redding, California and a Spring Butterfly Exhibit at the Desert Botanical Garden in Phoenix, Arizona.

Fabulous shots. Butterflies can be so difficult to capture.
