TASTE of Fried Alligator from Cochon New Orleans

 In Food, Restaurants

Welcome to TASTE, a delicious part of Walking On Travels that will give you ideas for your next dining adventure with or without your kids. For many of us, we loved checking out the latest restaurant before we had kids, but we forgot about food after the baby was born. It is time to reignite those taste buds and get excited about what is out there to be devoured and enjoyed.

What: Fried alligator with chili garlic mayonnaise

WhereCochon, 930 Tchoupitoulas St, New Orleans, LA 70130

Why: Mmmm… tastes like chicken. Well it’s true, sort of. The chili garlic mayo hid the chicken taste, but this crispy alligator was definitely a treat. I mean really, if you are going to eat alligator you really can’t go wrong when you try it for the first time at Cochon. This meal would be one of many firsts, including my first oyster and pickled watermelon.

Have you ever tried alligator? Would you?

If you have a favorite morsel you discovered during your wanderings that you would like to share, please be in touch. I’m always looking to highlight the best bites around.
