Get healthy and out the door with the Nutri Ninja Blender Auto IQ

In Packing, Travel Essentials and Gear

I love smoothies. There I said it. I love chocolate. I love French toast and I love smoothies. If I’m perfectly honest, I love smoothies because they give me all that healthy stuff I really need so I can continue to explore my passion for chocolate and French toast. It is also the easiest and fastest way for me to get fruits and veggies into my boys, especially Ty who is known to only eat peanut butter sandwiches and yogurt most days.

I love smoothies so much that when Nutri Ninja did a demo of their new Nutri Ninja Blender Auto IQ at the International Food Bloggers Conference in Seattle this past September, I was right there in front asking more questions than any of the food bloggers in attendance. And no, it was not just because I am smitten with celebrity chef Devin Alexander who was doing the demonstration (OK, maybe just a little). When the Ninja team asked me to take their latest blender for a test drive, I knew this was a product that would not only benefit me, but also other families looking for healthy solutions to on the go meals.

Nutri Ninja’s new blender line includes Auto IQ, a handy little feature if you are a very busy mom who uses frozen fruit in most of her smoothies, and her current blender can’t quite keep up. My smoothies were always good, but they were chunky and not always easy for the kids to suck up through a straw without a lot of extra water added to them.

The Ninja has settings like “Frozen Drinks Smoothies” that allows me to throw everything in, turn it on and hit one button and walk away. The blender is preprogrammed and will stop when the smoothie is perfect. I don’t need to rattle the blender around to make sure everything gets to the very bottom where the blades are. Nope, the blades come all the way up through the pitcher. In fact, there is no rattling at all. Suction cups keep the blender base stuck to the counter so my blender can’t walk away when it is trying to grind up the ice I just threw in.

If I want smoothies for the road, we can get out and explore as soon as the blender turns off thanks to the 24oz and 32oz container that comes with travel lids. The lid design is a bit clunky, but when you are in a rush and don’t have time to transfer your smoothie to a better container, it will do. You can prep your smoothies the night before if you know you will have an early morning so all you have to do is blend it up and head out the door. The blender comes with a recipe book making it easy for even non-smoothie aficionados to make healthy smoothies (soups and dips) from the get go.

I don’t often talk about household items on here. It’s a travel site, but the Nutri Ninja has made getting out to explore locally with my boys so much easier than it was before. I feel better because I’m getting a healthy breakfast or snack that is packed with vitamins and fills me up. The travel lid makes it easy to share with the boys and not worry about major spills too. I’ll admit I’m converted. The Ninja will be our family blender from now on. Now if only I could get my hands on the Ninja food processor. Not sure how it would help me get out the door to explore faster, but I’m sure I could figure out how to make granola or some portable salsas. Never hurts to try.

Many thanks to the Nutri Ninja Blender Auto IQ team for sending me one of their new blenders to take for a test drive. As always, my opinions are my own. When they aren’t you will be the first to know.
