TASTE of Pear and Maple Pannekoeken at De Dutch in Vancouver

 In Canada, Food, Restaurants

Welcome to TASTE, a delicious part of Walking On Travels that will give you ideas for your next dining adventure with or without your kids. For many of us, we loved checking out the latest restaurant before we had kids, but we forgot about food after the baby was born. It is time to reignite those taste buds and get excited about what is out there to be devoured and enjoyed.

What: Pear and Maple Pannekoeken

Where: De Dutch, 410 W 2nd Ave, Vancouver, BC V5Y 3W3, Canada

Why: If you like pancakes and crepes than you will love pannekoeken. These plate-sized thin pancakes originated in the Netherlands and Belgium, but have found a happy home in Vancouver, BC via the local chain De Dutch. Seasonal favorites include a pear and maple pannekoeken. I found that syrup wasn’t really necessary, although it did add that maple flavor to every bite. Mom and dad may be able to devour one on their own, but little guys like mine could easily share just one. Or not. Somedays those boys can pack away more than I think!

If you have a favorite morsel you discovered during your wanderings that you would like to share, please be in touch. I’m always looking to highlight the best bites around.

Keryn, I love pannekoeken. I lived in the Netherlands for two years and I’m not kidding, we’d go at least once a week. Such a treat! I would definitely have to visit this place next time I’m in Vancouver.
