It’s a family tradition: the annual trip to the pumpkin patch! And why wouldn’t it be? The scenery. The fresh air. The chance to unplug and spend time together. It all adds up to some picture-perfect fall memories.

The Farm at Swan’s Trail
The Farm at Swan’s Trail offers a lot of bang for your buck. Pick and choose activities to fit your kids’ ages and your budget:
- Free: admission, parking, hay rides, pumpkin fields, petting zoo, duck races, and pig show
- $6 activity bracelet (with free access for parents and toddlers under 2): trampoline pillow, play area, golf putting course, peddle carts, and a three-story barn maze with exit slide
- $6 corn maze, day (free for kids under 4 and $25 for a family of up to 6): laid out in the shape of Washington state, this rather educational maze features hundreds of actual roads, towns, and landmarks
- $10 corn maze, night: not just a maze but a scavenger hunt, too—remember to bring your flashlight!
Pro tip: If you arrive early enough in October, you can do apple picking here, too. They offer Jonagold and Honeycrisps, free to pick and $2 per pound.
Fox Hollow Farm
Fox Hollow Farm can best be described as idyllic. Nestled along a river, it boasts mountain views; impeccable charm; a dreamy playhouse village; and a pasture of adorable bunnies, goats, and pigs to pet.
Your $10 admission gets you access to all this plus pony rides, train rides, hay rides, a kids’ hay bale maze, pumpkin-picking fields, and a fun-filled barn perfect for a rainy day (with horses, kittens, a corn pit, and a good-old-fashion rope swing in the hay loft).
And for an idyllic end to your idyllic Fox Hollow day, cozy up with some hot cocoa and s’mores around the fire pit.
Pro tip: This is the only farm on this list that requires advance registration. It decrease stress on the animals… while also decreasing stress on families who don’t want to fight the crowds for an afternoon “away from it all.”
Remlinger Farms
If you’re going to Remlinger, you’ll be doing MUCH more than just pumpkin picking, so plan to make a full day of it.
This farm is really more like a little county fair for your kids—complete with shows, a train, an animal barn, treat shops, and dozens of rides—for $18.75 per person (kids under 1 free). Best of all, compared to the fair, most of these rides don’t have a height minimum, so your tiny tots can join in the fun, too.
When you’re done with all that, you may be too wiped out to go pumpkin picking! And that’s okay—just pop into the massive general store to pick out some gorgeous gourds for decorations, carving, and cooking. While you’re at it, take home some homemade preserves, pickles, and pies, too.
Pro tip: Keep an eye out for Remliner deals online. Both times we’ve gone, we scored up to half off on Groupon. There’s also a large covered restaurant with an indoor play area—perfect for rainy days when you need a lunch or snack break to warm up and dry off.
Bob’s Corn and Pumpkin Farm
We’re hesitant to even include Bob’s Corn and Pumpkin Farm on our list, as it’s getting exponentially crowded year to year. But it’s so picturesque and fun filled, it will always hold a place in our fall hearts.
The parking, hay rides, pumpkin picking, trike track, farm animal viewing, and playground are all free. The corn mazes (both the 10-acre one and the kids’-sized one) vary in cost by age, day or night, ranging from $4-$12.
For $3 you can ride the cow train—a highlight for sure—and $2 gets you a shot at the apple cannons. Yes, apple cannons.
Before you head home, check out the delicious selection of homemade treats in the general store. And, of course, you can’t leave without trying some warm, fresh apple donuts.
On Saturdays and Sundays in October, Bob’s Corn also offers pony rides, face painting, and hot food concessions like BBQ and roasted corn.
Pro tip: Reserve one of the fire pit areas bordering the corn maze for a unique fall birthday party or outing with friends!
Dr. Maze’s Farm
As the name suggests, Dr. Maze’s Farm is all about mazes. From the toddler-sized hops and pole bean mazes to the relaxing lavender labyrinth to logic mazes like the color, number, and no-right-turn challenges, there’s truly a maze for everyone. This year’s big web maze also features questions about spiders (to give you maze clues), mazes within the maze, and even a quarter-mile short cut, for those less maze inclined.
Best of all, this place is a stone’s throw from Seattle and caterers to wee ones. In addition to the toddler-friendly mazes, there are rubber ducks races, hay rides, farm animals, a music garden, u-pick lavender fields, and even a singing chicken show!
Pro tip: If you have a baby or young toddler, chances are you’re still in “nap jail.” That’s what makes this pumpkin patch perfect for you. Since it’s so close to home, you can step out for a quick adventure and be back before nap time.
