TASTE: Pancakes n’ Bacon cupcake

 In Food, Washington

Welcome to TASTE, a delicious part of Walking On Travels that will give you ideas for your next dining adventure with or without your kids. For many of us, we loved checking out the latest restaurant before we had kids, but we forgot about food after the baby was born. It is time to reignite those taste buds and get excited about what is out there to be devoured and enjoyed.

What: Pancakes n’ Bacon cupcake

Where: The Yellow Leaf Cupcake Co., 2209 4th Avenue, Seattle, WA 98121

Why: Pancakes and bacon? Why yes, they do go together on your breakfast plate, but in a cupcake? Surprisingly these two work well together in dessert form. Seattle’s Yellow Leaf Cupcake Co.’s Pancakes n’ Bacon cupcake marries smooth maple butter cream frosting topped with bacon brittle to make a match made in bacon-lover’s heaven. Now I’m not saying I would eat this every day, but it is definitely worth a try. Once you finish it off, make sure you grab the Boston Crème cupcake if it is available. There is a cupcake I could eat over and over again.

I once tried a maple syrup and bacon flavoured chocolate brownie, which I thought would be just too weird but was bizarrely addictive! I love the sweet salty combinations!

I never would have thought of cupcakes and bacon. But pancakes and bacon… yes, so it seems obvious now!
