Hello Fall Travel Style!
Now that summer is over, the kids are back in school and the temperatures are dropping, it’s time to go shopping! We all love picking up a few new pieces to add to our fall wardrobe, especially if you are planning any fall weekend getaways. These five autumn must haves are all right on trend and will help you look stylish even if your travels are close to home cruising the local farmers market or taking the kids to the apple orchard!
Ankle boots are the perfect addition to your autumn travel style because they don’t take up as much space in the suitcase. Buy a low heel, stacked heel, or wedge to be more comfortable walking around all day. Ankle boots look good worn with a variety of denim, pants and skirts. The choices for ankle boots are endless but stick to a neutral color when you travel so you can wear them with multiple outfits.
The Long Cardigan
I love long cardigans because they can make short people like me look taller! They can also easily replace a jacket, which will remove some bulk in your luggage. Long cardigans are also the perfect item to wear on the plane, since it always gets cold at 30,000 feet. Even if you are not traveling far or leaving town, a long cardigan is perfect for the morning carpool and coffee runs.
The ultimate bag for travel style, as I have mentioned before, is the cross body bag. Crossbody bags keep all your daily essentials secure and is the perfect bag for a day of sightseeing. Crossbody bags can be small or large, so it depends on what you want to carry around all day. Smaller bags can also be acceptable for dinner and a night out.
Chinos & Joggers
Chinos or a pair of trendy joggers are for ladies who want to travel in comfort but don’t want to forgo the style. Chinos can be the best alternative to denim on a long flight and you can dress them down with sneakers or dress them up with a wedge or boot. Joggers are a trendy option that you will find in a more athletic style or a more casual style. Please be careful when wearing joggers; you do not want to look like a college freshman that’s running late to class! Pair joggers with a great pair of flats, a denim jacket and some great accessories to avoid looking slouchy.
Moto jackets seem to come back every autumn and have become more of a staple item of travel style than a trendy one. Moto jackets will definitely make your travel outfits a bit more chic and stylish. A black faux leather moto jacket is easy to dress up or down, you can literally dress up a pair of joggers with a leather jacket and be super comfortable and look pretty cool. If you choose a suede jacket I’d suggest wearing that with denim and those ankle boots you just snagged!
