TASTE of Veraci Pizza at the Fremont Market
Welcome to TASTE, a delicious part of Walking On Travels that will give you ideas for your next dining adventure with or without your kids. For many of us, we loved checking out the latest restaurant before we had kids, but we forgot about food after the baby was born. It is time to reignite those taste buds and get excited about what is out there to be devoured and enjoyed.
What: Special of the day pizza
Where: Veraci Pizza, 500 NW Market St, Seattle, WA 98107
Why: There are few things in life that are more important than pizza. You may laugh at this statement, but after growing up on NY style pizza and suffering through deep dish being called pizza when we lived in Chicago, well, we were ready for some decent pizza by the time we moved to Seattle. Before we moved to Seattle, we visited friends out here. We went to the local Sunday market in the neighborhood of Fremont, and low and behold there was a brick oven pizza vendor selling pizza by the slice. After one bite Mike and I were sold. We could now move to Seattle with little doubt in our mind. This was the place for us.
Although Veraci Pizza, the pizza we first had at the market, would later grow to several brick ovens at markets around town, they only recently established a brick and mortar location. It is pretty far from us, and we have since found other pizza places we like, but Veraci will always hold a special place in our hearts. It got us to move to Seattle. And boy was it delicious.
If you have a favorite morsel you discovered during your wanderings that you would like to share, please be in touch. I’m always looking to highlight the best bites around.
